Free ATIA Course: The Evolution of Accessible Telecommunications and its Impact in the Workplace
April 7, 2021; 3:30 – 4:30 pm EST. This presentation reflects the evolution of relay services over the past 30 years with a focus on accessibility in the workplace. Supporting a truly inclusive work environment requires any organization to build towards the goals of attitude, accessibility, accommodations and assimilation. This webinar discusses how to leverage the communication services offered through existing government programs to promote inclusion for employees who are Deaf, DeafBlind, have a hearing or vision loss, and cognitive, speech, or mobility disabilities.
The webinar will review the initial history of relay services including TTY, Speech to Speech services, DeafBlind access, internet relay, video relay services, captioning, conference call captioning and mobile access. T-Mobile will share the trend towards new technology and increasing demand for these services during the pandemic. The webinar will highlight how to locate services and registration requirements.
