RESNA: Volunteers wanted!
By: Daniel Cochrane, MA, MS, ATP, Chair, RESNA Professional Standards Board
RESNA is recruiting another round of volunteer subject matter experts to write new questions for the ATP certification exam. Experts from all areas of assistive technology are encouraged to apply. Volunteers must be able to attend an exam update workshop March 10-12 in Columbus, Ohio. RESNA will reimburse travel expenses. To be considered, please participate in a short survey. You are also required to send RESNA your CV or resume.
You do not have to be ATP-certified to participate but if selected you would be ineligible for ATP certification for a period of 7 years. In other words, RESNA values your expertise even if you are not interested in obtaining ATP certification for yourself.
The organization had very good representation from the K-12 setting at the first question writing session in November. They are, however, looking for a well-balanced, representative cross-section of highly experienced AT practitioners from a variety of practice settings (early intervention, K-12, hospital, clinic, voc rehab, private practice, community practice), a variety of professional backgrounds (OT, PT, SLP, special education, rehab engineer, rehab counselor, etc), and who specialize in a variety of types of AT (learning/cognition, AAC, seating/mobility, sensory, workplace, etc).
If you are interested, please complete the survey..
