TITLE: Improving home and school access to text and writing supports for students with visual impairments, physical disabilities or severe learning disabilities.
WEBINAR DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this three session webinar series is to share information about the free federally funded program Bookshare, which allows access to books and periodicals for readers with visual impairments, physical disabilities or severe learning disabilities. The second two webinars focus on improving reading speed, comprehension, and writing/study skills through the use of Kurzweil Software 3000.

BIOGRAPHY: Melissa Hawkins, Special Education Teacher at Baltimore County Public Schools, supports students with disabilities in reading and writing with assistive technology. Her interests include integrating technology into the curriculum and sharing information with parents about at-home resources to promote literacy.
